Votorantim Metais Mineral Exploration area specializes in the mineral deposit discovery and feasibility operations. Since 2006, the company has had a specific directorate in the corporative area and operates with a multidisciplinary team in areas such as geology, mining engineering, among others, totaling 70 professionals.
The discovery, identification and feasibility process of the deposits is divided in six basic stages: definition of potential areas, initial exploration, exploratory drilling, definition of recourses, feasibility studies and construction.
Our team operates with the support of the most rigorous Health, Safety and Environment rules (SSMA) with focus on safe behavior in every activity performed. Simultaneously, it is guided by the newest and most modern technologies on the global market, such as remote sensing, air and land geophysics (EM, MAG, GAMA, GRAV and IP), routine geochemistry and specialized in current sediment, soil, rock and drilling.

- 68 projects underway for zinc, nickel and aluminum.
- It has 14 joint ventures to identify and make new deposits feasible.
- Main projects: Aripuanã, Bongará, FerroNíquel, Montes Claros, Paragominas and Pucará.
- The purpose of Pucará project, in the Andes region, is to provide zinc concentrates to the Cajamarquilla refinery, in Peru.
