Impressive figures, cutting-edge technology

Votorantim Metais’s factory – CBA in the municipality of Alumínio, in São Paulo, shows expressive figures which demonstrate its superiority: with almost 700 thousand sq/m of constructed area, it is the largest comprehensive aluminum industry in the world, which makes everything in one location, from the processing of bauxite to the product manufacturing.

Every day, bauxite loads coming from Votorantim Metais Mining Units in Minas Gerais, go to the alumina section, where the bauxite is chemically processed to acquire the aluminum oxide (alumina). From here, the product goes to the reduction rooms and to welding, where the primary aluminum, the raw material used in the plastic processing sections, is acquired: profile and pipe extrusion; wire drawing and cable stringing; plate, coil and screen lamination.

Today, the aluminum factory has the capacity to produce 475 thousand tons of product per year. The production, for civil construction, electricity, packaging, consumption goods and transport internal markets, represents 90% of the total produced.
