Recycling
With sustainable actions in the reuse of raw material, meaningful reduction of energy consumption and natural resource economy. Votorantim Metais – CBA acquired Metalex, a Brazilian company specialized in the recycling of aluminum, at the end of 2010. In addition to associating the company image to sustainable issues, VM – CBA’s strategic initiative expands its product portfolio, including 4 inch and 5 inch dowels. This provides for the various Extrusion demands in the Brazilian market.
Located in Araçariguama, in the interior of São Paulo, Metalex uses aluminum post-consumption scrap and industrial scrap to produce dowels, used as raw material in the Extrusion Industry. To achieve this, in addition to carrying out the recycling job, it adds primary aluminum to get the final product.
