OCA 2 – Communication and Art Body

NGO Crescer for Citizens is responsible for the initiative, which becomes feasible through the Nickel business unit in São Miguel Paulista (SP), which proposes to turn complementary education into a formal one. The purpose is the training of young people so that they become leaders by teaching them communication and art. The project develops skills for these young people to promote the mobilization, articulation and as a consequence the development of their community. The activities comprise of art and communication workshops where radio, audiovisual and printed pieces are produced. The project also focuses on the body expression, the critical analysis of means of communication, education in the web 2.0 era, event planning and management. Since the beginning of the project, 170 young people between 15 and 29 years old have already been benefited.

Digital and Language Inclusion Project

In Niquelândia, VM develops, in association with Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG), a project aimed at young people who do not have access to the digital and language field. Through this initiative, young people participate in Portuguese (Grammar and Writing), English and Spanish lessons, as well as in lessons for their inclusion in the digital universe. The purpose of the project is to educate them and give them opportunities to participate in competitions, college entrance exams and get qualified for the job market. The project started in 2010 and has benefited 200 young people between 15 and 29 years old.
