Preparing young men and women for more challenging positions is part of VM’s growth strategy. That’s why the company has developed the Developing Young Professionals Program. With an eye on the future, this initiative works to develop the ideas and abilities of professionals under 30 years old.
The program consists of 186 hours of online training, completed within six months, and works intensively to develop leadership and interpersonal skills. The training includes diverse modules, such as Self Awareness, Project Management, Strategic Vision, Entrepreneurialism, Change Management, Value Added Management, Teamwork, Assertive Communication, Influential Leadership, Creativity, and Presentation Techniques.
Each module includes lectures, practice, group dynamics, videos, games, discussions, and other activities. At the end of the process, participants present applicable projects based on the reality of Votorantim Metals.
Each class is made up of an average of 30 collaborators of diverse backgrounds. In order to participate, the professional must have graduated five years ago or less, be under thirty years old, speak a second language (English or Spanish), and be able to apply learning, communicate well, lead, work proactively, and perform well on the job.
