Nickel
The nickel produced by Votorantim Metals is 99.9% pure and is registered on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
This product is used in the chemical, petrochemical, textile and food industries, and is important to galvanoplasty, the manufacture of cast items, pigments, insecticides, colorants, and ceramics.
Nickel matte from Fortaleza de Minas, refined abroad by OMG (Finland), produces electrolytic nickel, nickel in briquettes, and nickel salts.
Sulfuric acid is produced in Fortaleza as a byproduct, and is sold in Brazil, especially to the sugar, fertilizer, and general chemical industries.
Nickel Coins
The Nickel Coins manufactured by Votorantim Metals are electrolytic nickel cathodes produced in a unique shape specially developed for galvanoplasty applications.
Cobalt
Because it increases the resistance of metals, Cobalt is widely used in high resistance metal allows and superalloys such as dental prostheses and parts for the aerospace industry.
Cobalt is also used in the production of micronutrients for manufacture of animal feeds, fertilizers, pigments, and colorants.
Sodium Sulfate (Na2SO4)
With a minimum purity of 99.2%, VM’s Sodium Sulfate meets the demands of the market for diverse applications, including, for example
chemical products (paints and colorants), the ceramics industry (vitrified ceramic), textiles and related products (color fixatives), soap and detergents (saponification), glass (refiner and bubble eliminator), and paper and pulp (soda recovery in boiler).
