Some of the actions taken are: reforesting of mining areas, recycling, recirculation of industrial wastewater, environmental education activities, water/ground and air monitoring, as well as monitoring of liquid, solid and gas effluents.

In 2007, R$91 million were invested on quality, safety, health and environmental actions.
